AVG Antivirus bug

If you are using AVG Antivirus, take note of the temporary directory of your computer. One of them is C:\WINDOWS\Temp. If there are files with the .T$M extension you can delete it. They are temporary files copied by AVG into that folder when AVG encounters locked or corrupted files. Delete all of them to save your disk space.
More info on the file extension:

Ya, those are useless temporary files and takes up space.
Files with .tmp extensions are also safe to delete. Some of them are backup files in case you need to rollback your computer if there are problems but that is quite unlikely.
